Mia Liang

Local artist Mia Laing is an award winning artist whose work blends still life, wildlife and narrative realism with storytelling and whimsy. Proudly West Australian, she is particularly drawn to Australia’s native birds, wildlife and botanicals, weaving them into richly detailed and colourful paintings that celebrate beauty, story and emotional connection.

Taking inspiration from a lifelong love of children’s illustration, vintage objects and domestic life, Mia creates vibrant, joy filled works that explore themes of home, memory and the small, often missed, rituals of everyday living.  Her paintings are known for their warmth, colour and playful themes, inviting viewers to pause and look a little closer.

With a professional career spanning over 15 years, Mia’s work is held in private collections throughout Australia and internationally, as well as in commercial, medical and hospitality spaces.
Alongside her painting practise, she writes on her Substack blog, Life At The End Of A Paintbrush, sharing the reflections and stories behind the art, creativity and life. She also regularly shares her work on Instagram and accepts selected private commissions.
