Eddy Wajon
Dr Eddy Wajon is a photographer, wildflower book writer, passionate environmental advocate and an environmental chemist/engineer.
He has produced five Colour Guides to the Spring Wildflowers of WA covering the Kalbarri and the Northern Sandplains, Perth and the Southwest, Esperance and the Wheatbelt, the Goldfields, and Hyden. He has also published Jim Barrow’s two books on “How to Enjoy WA Wildflowers”, and has contributed wildflower, orchid, fauna, bird, pub (hotel) and scenic photos to Australian calendars.
He owns and manages two bush blocks for conservation which were the first properties purchased specifically for Gondwana Link. He commissioned revegetation of 80 ha of cleared farmland with locally native species, has undertaken feral animal control, and documented and photographed native plant and animal species on these properties. He featured on ABC Landline in May 2014.
Malleefowl have constructed mounds on one property, including in revegetated areas, and laid eggs from which chicks have hatched. He erected 25 Cockytubes on the other property from which 83 fledglings have entered the world since 2006.
Eddy leads wildflower walks in Perth, and hosts wild weekends away surveying and photographing plants and animals on his own properties.
