Hoai Nguyen is the creator of Lucy & Me – A Friendship Keepsake.

When Hoai moved from Vietnam to Germany at the age of 11, she left all of her childhood friends behind. It was in Germany that she discovered friendship books for the first time. She treasured them as a way of preserving friendships and memories that time and distance could so easily fade.

Decades later, those keepsakes remain among her most cherished childhood possessions. Inspired by them, and by watching her own daughters build friendships of their own, she created Lucy & Me to help children capture the friendships, stories and little moments that make childhood so special.

Featuring Lucy the quokka and six Australian animal friends, the book celebrates creativity, connection and WA's unique wildlife through a keepsake made to be treasured for years to come.
