Patrick Wong
After graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts (Ceramic Design) in 1992, Patrick Wong went on to complete his Graduate Diploma in Applied Arts in 2002.
In 2001 he was technical assistant for a Martin Blank workshop, which fuelled his passion for sculptured hot-formed glass. Whilst working as a glassblowing assistant for several Melbourne artists, he developed his own work hot-forming solid glass male and female torsos.
Patrick's work is created from hot-worked solid glass, influenced by both classical and primitive traditions of sculpture. He is interested in the body as the external expression of an internal existence. In addition to his sculptural pieces, he makes a range of colourful retro-inspired vases, paperweights and scent bottles.
Patrick has had many exhibitions in both Australia and the USA. In 2011 he opened his own access studio and showroom in Melbourne where he continues to work on his collection and teach.
Made in Australia.
