John Dawson is the self-taught woodturner behind JAD Creations. What began as a hobby has grown into both his passion and livelihood. He is drawn to working with wood for its individuality—each piece telling its own story through its grain, texture, and natural quirks. His aim is to reveal that inherent beauty while crafting objects that are both functional and distinctive.

He primarily works with locally sourced Western Australian timbers, alongside a select range of European species, with a strong focus on sustainability. From sleek modern bowls to rustic chopping boards and decorative sculptures, every piece is thoughtfully handcrafted with care and attention to detail.

Through JAD Creations, John also offers custom commissions, laser engraving, and restoration services. Whether bringing a unique vision to life or restoring a cherished wooden item, he approaches each project with the same level of dedication and craftsmanship.
