Jill Yelland

Jill Yelland was born in Perth, Western Australia. Having begun as a graphic designer and typographer, she has gone on to have a diverse professional career. She was a participant in the 2004 FORM Designing Futures Masters Program. She has also studied printmaking at central TAFE in Perth, Western Australia and has done courses in glass fusing and slumping.

On top of being an author, designer, typographer and publisher, Yelland has become a successful maker of original glass products. Yelland uses hot-working glass techniques including slumping; fusing and dichroic. Her work is represented in private art collections, including The Perth Mint, the Department of Minerals and Energy WA, his Excellence the Governor of WA, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and the European Space Agency, Madrid, Spain.She has also completed public art commissions for the Armadale/Kelmscott Memorial Hospital Western Australia; the Prospectors and Miners’ Hall of Fame, Kalgoorlie Western Australia and Kalbarri Vision Resort, Kalbarri Western Australia.
