Future Shelter
Established in 2007 by Adam Coffey and Jane Coffey, Future Shelter is recognised for locally designed and manufactured homewares and gifts. Inspired by the unique natural and built environment of Western Australia, they endeavour to create timeless pieces for your home, which can be loved for years to come.
Adam Coffey (BEng(Mech)) has previously worked as a project engineer working on major engineering and architectural projects both in Australia and the UK.
Jane Coffey (MA Royal College of Art) graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1999 and worked briefly for a company specialising in CAD/CAM systems before working as a textile designer in London for several years.
Future Shelter's design process begins with local inspiration, from which Jane sketches, refines and stylises. Products are sampled in small batches which help them to learn more about potential manufacturing methods and tweak the design accordingly. Adam is constantly on the look out for locally sourced materials, often using reclaimed woods such as jarrah, sheoak and Norfolk pine.
Future Shelter have a passion for good design and craftsmanship, and are committed to local, in-house manufacturing. Embracing digital innovation, process driven methodology and lean manufacturing, their products are all made in their workshop based within the Midland Railway Heritage Buildings near Perth,Western Australia.
Made in Western Australia.
