Payet Design
Two in a family of seven children, Francois and Nicholas Payet grew up in a small village on the island of Mahe in Seychelles. Their childhood was one of poverty, juxtaposed against the beauty of the island paradise. The family moved to Australia in 1970 where they made their home in Melbourne, Victoria.
Francois' interest in jewellery developed at a young age creating and designing from the initial stages of his unofficial apprenticeship at the age of sixteen. His talent for design has extended over the years with progression to his own retail outlets in Melbourne.
Nicholas joined his brother's business in the early 1990's and in 2006 the brothers and familes moved to Margaret River, eventually satisfying a dream to build and work from a purpose built jewellery gallery.
Working with combinations of yellow gold, rose gold, palladium and silver, Francois travels each year to source pearls and gems for his handcrafted designs. Constantly inspired by the simple beauty of these materials, the Payet brothers create an extensive array of finishes and textured surfaces through a variety of specialised processes. Each design is carefully considered and crafted with absolute respect and appreciation of these exquisite materials.
Made in Western Australia.
