Djarliny Designs
Born in a small coastal town in the south west of Western Australia, Djarliny is a Traditional Owner from the Wardandi/Bibbulman Noongar Community.
From a young age, Djarliny has used bright colours and complex symbolism to describe the connection between Culture, her environment and the ever encroaching fast paced world we live in. Professionally painting since 1996, Djarliny has commissioned many artworks that are treasured by local, national and international private collectors.
Her Totem spirit animal, the blue-tongued lizard, known in local dialect as Yoorn was given to her at a young age. She was also given the Artist-name Djarliny, which is the Noongar word for 'flame' and 'listening'.
Djarliny’s cryptographic art brings a new perspective to Aboriginal artwork that can only truly be understood by interpreting the truth found in the colours and symbolism expressed within the multiple dimensions of her paintings.
“My artwork depicts a visual representation of the delicate balance and vital connections that exist between my Culture and the forces of nature in our environment that affect us all.”
Made in Western Australia.
