Vegan With Bite: Because Taste Matters
Luxurious, generous and delicious vegan food within everyone's reach – whatever their budget.
In 'Vegan With Bite', Australia’s number one vegan chef, Shannon Martinez, presents more than 80 thoughtful but easy meals (complete with shopping tips and cheffy hacks) that are guaranteed to take the meal beyond the meat-and-dairy-free predictable. It is all part of Shannon's mission to show readers that generous, delicious and environmentally sustainable food is entirely achievable – regardless of budget.
Alongside her recipes, Shannon shares her essential kitchen larder, a did-you-know guide to ingredients that are not actually vegan (but that many cooks think are, and vice versa), plus advice on leftovers and cutting back on waste. There’s also a chapter on dips, condiments and sauces described by Shannon as the essential glue that brings her meals together.
'Vegan With Bite' is everything you wouldn’t expect of a book presenting winning meals on a shoestring.
About the Author:
Shannon Martinez is an unlikely candidate to be the poster girl for plant-based dining. But she is, and she's unstoppable. Shannon is on a mission to change both the way people perceive plant-based food and the way they eat it. In her case, it's coming from a different perspective. Being a meat eater gives Shannon the insight to create tastes and textures that are unlike anything on the market today, dreaming up recipes that truly replicate meats, cheeses, and good old family favourites.
Over more than two decades of cooking in Melbourne kitchens, Shannon has developed a following among fans and peers alike for her out-of-the-box thinking and try-anything approach. She is the owner of Australia's two most prolific plant-based businesses, Smith and Daughters and Smith and Deli. As well, she is the co-author of two bestselling books, 'Smith and Daughters: A Cookbook (That Happens To Be Vegan)' and 'Smith and DELIcious: Food From Our Deli (That Happens To Be Vegan)'.
