Two prominent local artists will be artists-in-residence in Aspects of Kings Park gallery shop over the coming weekends.
Anne Sorensen and Jill Yelland, who both specialise in glass, will be in-store from 10.00 am - 4.00 pm on November 7, 8, 14 and 15.
Visitors can chat to the artists about their work, see demonstrations and find out more about how their beautiful pieces are created.
'It’s nice to be able to explain the process and usually [people are] amazed at how much work goes in to such a simple object and how many processes go into them', Anne said.
'Some of my work looks really simple and when you explain it to people they say 'wow, you do all that?'' she said.
Anne will be demonstrating the processes and showing examples of her varied work, while Jill will bring examples of her powdered glass work.
Anne's passion for glass began in 1990 with work in stained glass, before she delved into kiln formed glass. Her award-winning work can be seen in galleries around Australia, including Aspects of Kings Park.
Originally trained as a graphic designer, Jill first ventured into glass in 2003 and uses a variety of techniques to create her vibrantly coloured, sophisticated works.
Her works have been exhibited both within Australia and overseas, and are also in public and private collections throughout the world.
