Convict - New range

Convict - New range

Raw hide and leather, saddlery and straps, metal bolts and buckles. Nothing encapsulates the iconic Australian image quite like a Convict. No, we’re not referring to Ned Kelly and his infamous gang, rather the beautifully functional, colonial inspired leather goods from Perth design duo Convict.

Hailing from a leafy suburb in the Perth Hills, the Convict team have a design philosophy as true blue as their products – honest, local, hard wearing and timeless. Designed to look and feel better with age, Convict bags and accessories make a statement of supreme quality whilst reflecting the raw beauty of Australia’s relaxed barefoot style.

Embracing their heritage and what it means, Convict founders Georgina Lewis and Karen Adie, were incredibly moved when researching convict life, discovering amazing stories of resilience, hardship, of bushrangers, pirates and escapees. Honoured to name each of their Convict handbags after real convicts, their stories are found tucked inside each product - some with verse from Dorothea Mackellar’s legendary poem My Country literally scripted onto the leather. A lovingly detailed touch that makes acquiring a Convict bag that little bit more special.

The new range titled ‘Inside Australia’ is a gorgeous mix of textural cowhides seen in coin purses, passport wallets, shoulder bags, totes, satchels, clutches and even wrist cuffs. The simplicity of clean lines and folds strengthened by bonding has enabled a Convict wallet design free of hardware, rivets and fastenings. Sitting smooth and seam-free in your pocket, these buttery soft leather companions will be lifelong, weathering gracefully along with you.

Expert craftsmanship and unmatched quality are a given with Convict leatherwear and the fantastic difference is that every item is created to be unisex, giving the accessories a hugely universal appeal, which we feel is just downright clever design. Come in-store to Aspects today to see the latest Convict range and no doubt you’ll try on, stroke and breathe in the aroma of rustic leather just like we do.
