Emily Green is a Melbourne based designer whose name has become synonymous with vibrant colour. Her hand-formed polymer clay necklaces have fast become a staple for the Melbourne style conscious. More than four years since their conception, Emily’s original range of colourful 9 bead necklaces are still a coveted design. Emily is well known for her use of unusual and unexpected colour combinations in palettes that suit all tastes.
Emily Green’s aesthetic has evolved through her strong art and design background and years of developing her craft. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Western Australia as well as a year studying Fashion and Textiles at TAFE in Perth before moving to the cultural mecca of Melbourne in 2005. Emily then completed a Graduate Diploma in Education and became a high school art teacher. After 2 years of inspiring teenagers, it became clear that Emily had unfinished business. She made the best decision of her life, resigning from her teaching position and enrolling in Textile Design at RMIT. With her creative energy focused in a new direction, Emily now had the time and the headspace to once again begin creating for herself.
Emily's initial jewellery range was a hit. When her colourful designs started to infiltrate into the black wardrobes of Melbournians, the demand for her pieces gave her the confidence to finally concentrate on designing full time. And so the Emily Green label was born.
