This limited edition print, from an original fine art watercolour by Chris Spiker, depicts two red-tailed black cockatoos playing in Corymbia ficifolia (as known as red-flowering gum).
"Unlike most birds, the black cockatoo can be represented in various postures. The one I most like or admire is this one where the male bird throws out the frontal crest, splays the feathers below the lower bill, and takes on the appearance of an Emperor. Each of my paintings is a unique composition and not based upon a single photograph. In this composition, I have created three red eye catching forms or spaces - the male's red tail, the female's red tail and of course the red flowers of the Corymbia. The curved body of the female also contributes, with those colour highlights, to hopefully causing the viewers eyes to travel around the painting and not stuck on any point. This factor gives a painting life and energy.." - Chris Spiker

Materials: Printed on the finest quality 300gsm Hahnemuhle Rag Paper. The estimated colour fastness lifespan of the inks is in excess of 200 years.
