Carnabys Raiders Print
This limited edition print, from an original fine art watercolour by Chris Spiker, depicts Carnaby's black cockatoos feeding on a marri (Corymbia calophylla) tree.
"White-tailed black cockatoos are a relatively common sight in the south-west of Western Australia. This level of visibility is deceptive as the number of breeding birds steadily declines. The seeds inside the nuts of the marri is a most frequented source of food. So I decided to represent these magnificent birds as a smallish flock feeding in a marri, with its twisted ropey branches and fascinatingly variable big leaves." - Chris Spiker
