Description

An encyclopaedia of Australian birds handed to Dana Kinter by her grandmother has always been a tucked away treasure in her bookshelf…

Cherishing the early morning cuppa sipped on the front porch before the house has woken; watching the wattle birds dance in the Banksia; spending an afternoon drawing in the sunshine with a magpie family to keep her company; or even as she watches on as the young magpie takes pride in acquiring a stolen treat or two from the dog’s breakfast bowl; it seems only inevitable that Dana would create this body of work. She has tried to capture those moments in her paintings; for the viewer to ‘stop and listen to the birds’, even if just for a moment.

Drawing from the nature of the Fleurieu Peninsula where she lives, artist Dana Kinter has created a signature style that embraces the native bush along with our feathered friends. Dana explores those fleeting moments of life and energy using pencil and acrylic on timber and, recently, functional ceramic pieces for the home and heart.

Aspects currently stocks Dana’s range of limited edition art prints and greeting cards, and will soon be stocking original artworks and ceramics.
