Throughout August, Aspects of Kings Park will be featuring textiles by talented artist Lucy Bromell.
A select range of scarves, wraps and tableware inspired by Western Australia's flora will be on display to view and purchase. These scarves make wonderful gifts for that special person in your life, perhaps that is you !
Inspired by the warm colours and interesting textures of the Australian landscape, particularly Western Australian flora, Lucy generally works with natural fibres such as silk and Australian wool. Lucy has revived the French devorè (or ‘burn out') technique of the 1930's for her scarves. This etches the design into the fabric of the scarf. The scarves are individually printed and dyed, making each one a unique interpretation of Western Australia's beautiful flora.
In addition, Lucy has developed a stylish range of linen table runners, placemats and napkins, also with environmental motifs and beautiful fabrics.
