Artist in Focus Print E-mail

Two talented contemporary jewellery artists will be featured in store this month at Aspects of Kings Park.

Meghan O'Rourke (Meghan O'Rourke Contemporary Jewellery) and WA's own Kim Christian (Quiff Designs) produce funky contemporary pieces that are fun and imaginative.

megor_cluster_broochTaking inspiration from the natural environment and working with materials such as titanium, anodised aluminium, textiles, silver and even paper ensures the work produced is bright, ornate and very original.

Quiff PendantKim's pieces use contrasting materials such as combining aluminium, acrylic, sterling silver or copper, with skeleton leaves, paper or textiles. She also has a passion for everything retro and vintage. This results in predominantly big, bright and expressive pieces which evoke the fun and fashion of earlier eras, but are very much wearable and lovable for today.

Tint EarringsMeghan's jewellery comes in a kaleidoscope of colours. The intricate embellishments highlight the uniqueness of the materials she uses. Anything from a wet raindrop on foliage, the beauty of Australia's coral reefs, or even reflections serve as a starting point from which to transform metal into gorgeous contemporary jewellery and objects.
